Dart's Hill Garden Park

Miko and I visited Dart's Hill Garden Park this past weekend during their plant sale. There were quite  a few people even though it was raining lightly for most of the day.

I had fun practicing with my camera, there were lots of blooming plants and flowers.

Miko sat contentedly in his stroller while we made our rounds

 So many colours!

Miko ran around exploring for awhile after we circed the park. He was given a tiny vial of bubbles by the nice lady at the front gate and he LOVED it.
I even had a hard time making bubbles with that tiny wand.  He thought waving it around was great fun though, regardless if there were bubbles or not.

Biking and Beaches

Miko and I went biking at Serpentine Fen last weekend. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, a nice breeze and lots of wildlife to spot.

This guy loves going biking, especially because he gets to wear his most coveted helmet.

Pansies are doing great at our new house
Another trip to East Beach in White Rock, we can't get enough!

Farm Tots at Stewart Farmhouse

We signed up for a fun little class together last week!  It was hosted at the Historic Stewart Farmhouse in Elgin Park and Miko had a blast!
They have one class every month for 1-3 year olds, and each one has a different theme.  Our class was focused on 'Spring Flowers' so all of the crafts and activities were centered around this theme.
We got to go inside the old farmhouse and hear stories and sing songs about Spring time. There were some lovely young ladies who were hosting our group and they did a great job.
Miko was the youngest one there and at first I wondered if he was too young to get much out of it but he LOVED everything about it!  He was very well behaved, sat quietly on my lap during stories and songs. When we went outside he was absolutely enthralled with the flowers, grass, and of course the well/watering hole.
The crafts were definitely too advanced for him, but I certainly had fun 'helping' him.
His favourite part, by far, was this tiny pot we got to decorate and fill with soil and a few seeds.  Miko was sooooo excited it is hard to describe it with words! He carried that thing around so very carefully, with this beaming look of pride on his face.
We both had such a great time that I came home hoping to sign up for the boat themed class in June but, to my dismay, it was already filled :(  Anyway, we are on a waiting list and I have my fingers crossed.
