Happy Birthday Miko

Well, our little bundle of joy has done it, he tuned one year old!  I still can't believe how fast the past year has flown by. Miko has grown into a little boy with an emerging personality that we just can't get enough of.

I put up a few decorations the night before because I knew Miko might be up as early as 5:00am!

I created a little collage to celebrate his first birthday. This might become an annual tradition depending on how much time I can dedicate to it ;)

 We didn't have a party this year, Miko is still too young to really understand it, plus our family lives far away. However, we had a great time Skyping both sets of Miko's Grandparent's while Miko opened his presents.

Of course Miko's favourite part of the day were the balloons.

And we couldn't deny him his right of passage - eating cake for the first time.  It was his first time trying any kind of refined sugar, he was a little tentative with it.

We don't think he actually ate much of it but he sure liked playing with it.

He is going through a generous phase and kept trying to feed some to Luke.

He sure had a great sensory experience, it didn't take him long to start smearing it all over himself.

We had a very low-key, relaxed day as a family.  Our little Miko seemed to have a good time and sure got a lot of love from everyone!  Happy Birthday sweet boy, we love you so very much!
