Life Lately

Miko is using my old MP3 player as a pretend cell phone

A couple of weeks ago we rented a row boat on Deer Lake and had a great time.
Miko had his concerned face on the whole time. But, of course, as soon as we are done, he wants 'More boat!'

Luke had fun being a 'sea captain' again ;)

Cool view of the city skyline
 Lots of lily pads
And a turtle sunning himself on a log
It feels like full on summer here, so we went to the beach, along with tons of others who had the same idea.

Boating - Lake Okanagan to Vernon

The sky was beautiful that day

Totally worth the price in my opinion :)

 Off we go!

Victoria Day Long Weekend - First Boating Excursion of the Summer!

Our boat finally made it out onto the water this past weekend. The weather man promised rain all day on Sunday, so we took our chances with Saturday. Luckily for us, it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon.  We drove all the way to Kalamalka lake and launched at Kekuli Bay. Let me just say that the extra effort was well worth it. The boat launch at Kekuli Bay is designed wonderfully, there are two launches on either side of the dock, which makes everything much more efficient.  Oh, and there is a massive parking lot, filled with pull-through, double-length stalls, perfect for vehicles with a trailer attached.

Boating is such a great activity, we enjoy it so very much for many different reasons.  Luke and I both feel that buying our boat was one of the best things we could have spent our money on.  As far as we are concerned, we have gotten much more than our money's worth already!
