Basic Bento

Every once in a while a remember to snap a picture of one of Luke's bento lunches. They are very basic as I don't have a lot of time to be creative right now. I am definitely looking forward to making some kid friendly lunches in the future when Miko gets older.

(It's Been Awhile) Bento

I made this bento for Luke the other day, at his request :)   I guess I haven't made a bento in a long time.... Bento seem to be more of a spring/summer go-to meal for me.  In the fall and winter I am constantly making big batches of comfort food instead: Chili, Stew, Crock pot meals etc.  The saran wrap is a little addition I include in Luke's bento when I think his adventure of the day may result in an upturned bento box.

My First Lunchbots Bento

 Container: Lunchbots Green Uno
Contents: Pepper salami, cucumber slices, cheddar cheese, baby carrots and grape tomatoes

Oh how I love my new lunchbots bento! I have been dreaming about getting one of these babies for so long.... I finally found a store in Kelowna that carries this amazing brand and bought one for myself on my birthday.  It was a little pricey, which is why I have waited so darn long to buy one, but it was so very worth it.  You can learn about all of the stainless steal, environmentally friendly lunchbots products on their website here.

Summer Foods

Luke made this delicious pasta tonight, with fresh ingredients from our very own garden!  The carrots and zuchinni were especially yummy because we knew we grew them ourselves.

Mexicana chopped salad has been a summer staple at our house

Our new grill basket was put to use on the BBQ

This is my mexicana salad bento - also know as my ugly or blurry bento :)  At least it tasted delicious!
