Miko's First Race Day

 We took Miko to the Langley BMX track a couple of weekends ago.  It was so much fun that I am going to start riding too!

 All these little guys are 2 or 3 years old and they race what's called the 'half track'.  One parent is allowed to help the child through the course if needed.  Most of the little guys needed help getting up the last big hill, but they all did great.  You could tell which ones have been doing the races for awhile, and which kids were relatively new.

 Here's Luke helping Miko down the big hill. He was scared at first but was doing it all by himself by the last run.

 They make it so fun for everyone, as a parent, I was itching to get out and ride too!  They have announcers that have a running commentary during the race so all the kids get to hear their names. They also have official racing plates on the front of their bikes and they get a toy/trophy at the end.

 Pretty much all the kids and adults had huge smiles plastered across their faces :)

 They also have a little pump track for the kids to practice on while they are bored/waiting to race.

 We will be going back for sure, and next time, I hope to join him.

 We had a picnic at Bear Creek Park last week.

 We explored the gardens and played on the playground

We ended up at Richmond Country Farm on Mothers Day.

 We also checked out Terra Nova Adventure playground.

 And explored the Nature trails there...

 One night when Luke was putting Miko to bed, I went to sit at the Ocean side.  Such a beautiful, serene setting.

Life Lately

 Miko is using my old MP3 player as a pretend cell phone

 A couple of weeks ago we rented a row boat on Deer Lake and had a great time.

 Miko had his concerned face on the whole time. But, of course, as soon as we are done, he wants 'More boat!'

 Luke had fun being a 'sea captain' again ;)

 It feels like full on summer here, so we went to the beach, along with tons of others who had the same idea.
